Privacy Policy
Your health data, handled with care and in line with KVKK and GDPR.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Klera: Acne & Isotretinoin, developed by Tapply AI, collects, uses, stores, and protects your data. It applies to the Klera application published on the App Store and Google Play. Klera helps people on isotretinoin treatment track their journey and is designed to comply with Turkey's KVKK (Law 6698) and the EU GDPR. Because Klera processes health information, we treat your data as special-category personal data and only process it with your explicit consent.
Data We Collect
Account data: your email address and sign-in identifier (via Google or Apple Sign-In). Profile data: name (optional), birth year, gender, weight, approximate location (city and coordinates, used for sun/UV guidance), time zone, and any doctor details you choose to add. Health and treatment data you enter: treatment start date and dosage, medication-intake logs, skin photos, symptoms, mood entries (including optional PHQ-9/GAD-7 well-being questionnaires), sleep, water, nutrition and alcohol logs, lab results, menstrual-cycle and contraception entries, pregnancy-test results, appointments, personal notes, and AI assistant conversations. Technical data: device and push-notification tokens, app version, and basic diagnostics. You decide what to enter; most health fields are optional.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide treatment tracking, dosage and cumulative-dose calculations, and reminders; to generate AI-powered insights and an in-app assistant; to produce doctor-report summaries you can share with your physician; to support safety and regulatory features (such as pregnancy-test tracking for those who need it); and to keep the app reliable. We do not use your health data for advertising, and we never sell it.
AI Features
Some features — the AI assistant, skin-photo analysis, and lab-result reading — process your input using artificial intelligence. To deliver these features, the relevant content (for example, your message or a photo you submit) may be transferred to secure third-party AI providers solely to perform that specific processing; it is not used by them to train their models or for advertising. AI outputs are informational only and are not medical advice. You can use Klera without using the AI features.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third parties for advertising. We share data only with the service providers that operate the app (see Third-Party Services), with AI providers strictly to deliver the features you request, and where required by law. Doctor reports are shared only by you, at your own initiative.
Data Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on Google Cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted to your own authenticated account through security rules, and administrative access is limited and logged. While no system is perfectly secure, we apply industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of health data.
Your Rights
Under KVKK (Article 11) and the GDPR you can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and request portability. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), and you may delete individual entries (such as AI conversations or photos) yourself. To exercise any other right, contact support@tapply.ai. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the relevant data or your account.
Third-Party Services
Klera relies on: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions) and Google Cloud for hosting and AI processing; third-party AI providers for the assistant and photo/lab analysis; RevenueCat for subscription management; Apple and Google for sign-in, app distribution, and push notifications; and an open weather/geocoding service that converts your city into coordinates for sun-exposure guidance. These providers process data only to deliver their part of the service.
Children's Privacy
Klera is intended for patients undergoing isotretinoin treatment. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Minors should use Klera only under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. The 'Last Updated' date below indicates the latest revision. Continued use of Klera after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
